The Chinese Society for Mathematical Biology’s (CSMB) 6th International Conference on Mathematical Biology will be held 22-25 June 2018, in Beijing, PR China. This conference will be sponsored by the CSMB and hosted by Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. This conference will bring together leading experts in mathematical biology as well as young researchers to communicate recent advances in modeling approaches and methods, and exchange ideas about remaining challenges. The main topics include mathematical modeling and applications in biology, ecology, epidemiology, and public health. It will also include a one-day transmission modeling short course based on the organizers’ contributions to the Epidemic Intelligence Service curriculum, a two-year fellowship in applied epidemiology at the US CDC. This course will familiarize mathematicians interested in assisting in the design, or evaluation and possible improvement of public health measures for mitigating infectious diseases with the history, theory and methods of mathematical epidemiology.
